Hinduism is not a religion. It is a custom, tradition, cultural and way of Hindus' lives in Hindustan (India). No well known Hindu scholar, philosopher, jurist, leader, priest, book or script claimed it a religion but insisted it a culture, tradition, custom, etc. The Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiva Sena, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and all other famous organisations too claimed as such. The word Hindu is never used in any sacred ancient Hindu book or script. It is a Persian word, which meant "black" and was used for residents beyond Sindhu river.

Organisations need funds and finances and they collect it to meet their expenses, house rents, water, phone & electricity bills, employees' salaries, etc.

Until the time you some how meet a true saint, do not , even in your dreams, think of joining any organisation such as, ISKCON or Sai Baba or Mata or Swami or Power of --- etc.

This is my sincere advice, if at all you are serious in seeking your aspirations. It is better to wait for ages than to waste your this precious human life, at the doors of these self styled institutions, who only confuse the naive people.

Believe me, if you wait for the saint with tears flowing out uncontrollably from your eyes, he will appear and bless you.

Well I can understand your point... it is true that they are becoming commercial and all junk is presented to the public in the name of Yoga and kundalini, by these commercial saints.

I have yet to see a person who got enlightenment through these commercial religious shops

But our common herds do not give respect to saint unless he is a big name and to be a big name you need money, which is also required to run the establishment

But still I must say there are many saints who are doing it free of cost. you have to search for them

A commercial sadhu will find you to sell his meditation

You have to find a real sadhu to find enlightenment

After all enlightened souls do not roam on the streets finding buyers

One needs to pay a price for all that one desires, if you wish to learn something you also need to pay for it, and infact its so good that in kaliyuga you can do away with simply paying by money, think of the times when things were not commercialised, and people had to pay by slogging through their lives to learn a little bit!
Now-a-days you get to learn so much only for few rupees!

There are many centres. Ramakrishna Mission, Vipassana, Ganeshpuri, and many others. It dependsa where u r based. I have personally found Vipassana to b the best. If u look for them u will find them. Remember all d meditation centres r not run by wealthy organisations so they need help to run them.

Religion starts at home. Meditate at home. It's true- religion is becoming all about money in Hinduism.
