Ki-Cho (the person in charge of an aircraft)
Sen-Cho (the person in charge of a ship)
Kan-Cho (the person in charge of a ship of military)

It depends on a captain of what... a ship's captain is a senchou an airplane's captain is a kichou; the word chou itself means a captain, for example the captain of a group of nurses is a fuchou (head nurse). But a captain of a baseball team is kyaputen as the word came from English. And, military titles differ as to country and branch of service too.

According to an old American War film every single word or phrase in a question in Japanese is "I tie my shoe" spoken very quickly and if it's an answer it's "You tie your shoe".
At least I think that's what they said!!!
