I think that we have wasted 2000 years on Soul-salvation when we should be focused on soul development. The same goes for Jesus - Should we wait on Jesus or be Jesus? I think the moral to the story was to walk as Jesus and do Gods work on earth - not to sit around and wait for him. What do you think???

Soul salvation makes me think of the belief in "once saved always saved." It makes me think of when people say theyre "saved." I don't believe in such a thing, because salvation is dependent upon everything, not just ONE moment in time. Some people remember the anniversary when they were "saved" which shows that they consider it a one-day event, or a minute-long event, etc. Salvation is not an event that one can look back upon and eat cake over, it's the state of being close to God by one's entre life. It's a state of being, not an event.

I TOTALLY agree with you on this one, 100%. Soul development is so important, and I do believe the soul continues developing even after this physical life. To think that the soul has, on average, only 70 years to develop, is a sad thing. But to realize that the soul has ETERNITY to develop, WOW! What a concept! What a lovely and gracious gift from God!

The "soul" does not exist. However, in the last 2000 years social development has created an environment where individuals may freely explore the expression of their identity. The freedom of a republic is just beginning to show some positive effects upon the quality of life needed to support such expression. The "development" you suggest most certainly should be supported and its use encouraged. Waiting on deity is an exercise in futility due the the fact that none in history has ever been an effective agent, but an illusory metaphorical device for maintaining social stability and the upward distribution of wealth. Critical thinking is becoming more and more sophisticated within the republics of free people. This method of discovery should be perscribed to anyone with the ability and will to argue for what is most important ... Life, here and now.

Jesus Christ has already paid for our sins by His life and blood on the cross. Salvation is already at hand! You need not wait for anything! To receive this gift of God is to place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. At that moment you are justified before God the Father, and your sins are forgiven. This is your soul salvation. You are born again...your eternal life begins at that moment.
From that faith we live a life for Christ, profoundly grateful for saving us. We try to increasingly be more like Christ. We strive to do His will, follow His commands, and glorify God the Father through our Faith in Christ. This process of becoming more Christlike is called sanctification. It involves a transformation done to us by the Holy Spirit, as well as a transformation done by us and our choices. This step in your spiritual maturity is what you call soul development, I think. Sanctification is completed when we see Christ in heaven.
Justification must come before sanctification. Many church-goers, and do-gooders, and kind old ladies will be thrown into the fiery pits for eternity...they will say "LORD!" But the Lord will say He never knew them. Why? Because works, such as those in soul development, do not save you -- faith in Jesus does. Salvation via faith always comes before sanctification. Christians do good works not to receive salvation, but out of profound gratitude for what Jesus did for them.

I think that soul salvation is the purpose of soul-development. Jesus enabled us to be saved, and following Jesus- soul development- is being saved.

There is no "salvation" of the soul outside of "development" of the soul. They are one and the same.

Some religions have wasted 2000 years but not all. It just depends on the gods you worship. Shop around, the yellow pages have alot of churches with their version of god and his/her/their salvation or development.
