its april 17th whether you owe or not....yes usually it is on the 15th but this year the 15th falls on a weekend day so the deadline moves to the next business day which is the 16th however since the 16th is now a holiday (emancipation day) the deadline has moved to the 17th......extensions may be filed for a new deadline of aug 15th however it is only an extension of time to file, not time to pay

The deadline to send in your taxes is April 17th of this year. The normal deadline is April 15th, but the 15th falls on a Sunday of this year. Since the weekends are normally considered tax free days, then the deadline is extended two days this year.

This year it's April 17. IF you owe taxes.

If you don't owe, and are instead due a refund, there's no deadline. The government really doesn't mind keeping your money longer.
