Before you decide what you are going to do, think about the relationship. Imagine everything you do to the house is what you're doing to your parents. While you think nothing will happen, every factor accumulates the possbility.
Ex. Inviting some friends over probably won't hurt anything. Inviting friends over who bring their friends opens a window. Add alcohol or drugs to that and you've multiplied the factor.
On top of watching your friends, you're still responsible for maintaning the house. Keep alert, something simple can start a fire or cause an explosion.
Think of this as your maturing point. Good luck!

If you house is parent free they must trust you. If you love your parents you should do opposite of what you are thinking.... Maybe you could paint the living room, rearrange the furniture, clean the house. Something they would love to come home to. Go out with your friends if you want but don't bring a party home. How would you like it if all your CDs were busted up after you got home from school? That's how they would feel if you had a party at their home they work so hard for.

Don't do anything stupid! just cause they are gone don't mean thats it's a free for all! lol
keep within reason, dont invite the entire neighborhood over, if you get bored have a friend over but not a friend ad 500 of his/her friends! party? not a good idea, you will be held resposibale for other peoples actions and belive me, you dont want that. I suggest a couple movies a friend and umm maybe some pizza. have fun but not to much fun!
oh ya, try not to break anything! lol

First things first...put an ad in the paper that you are having an estate sale! When your parents leave, put all of the valuables outside and hock them for nice, cool instant cash! The neighbors will feel sorry for you since it is an "estate sale" hence, the term reflects that someone has passed away...and make sure you set out that donation box! You should rake up some serious cash from all the neighbors who feel sorry for you! Once the house is cleared out...it's time to party! Have fun and do us a favor and invite all the contributors to this question to the party!

Okay, you're going to hear a lot of "PARTY!!" answers, so one word of caution -- the time to think about what you'll have "after" is "before." In other words, once the party's over, if it gets out of hand, you will be stuck with the consequences (i.e., drunk friend drives home, hits another car -- victims sue you, for letting friend get drunk and drive. Drunk friend decides it'd be fun to hit t.v. with lamp. Parents blame you for letting friend get drunk, hit t.v. with lamp). It's good that you're thinking about what to do ahead of time.
What to do? Can't answer without knowing more about what you LIKE to do. If you like sports and your parents are okay with it, why not stock up on snacks next store trip before the parents leave, have friends over to watch a game? Have friends over to play cards?
Here's the thing to remember -- this is where you prove to your parents that you are responsible and mature enough to do things on your own (and to be left alone). Muck this up, and expect to be on the "has to have a babysitter" list for a looooong time to come. Do it right, and you get a big jump up the "adulthood" scale.

If you have a party, be careful just to invite people you know, and don't let them invite people you don't know... they might steal from you, wreck the house, or turn your simple party into a public disturbance that requires police action. So just stick with your friends.
By all mean, have fun - but be responsible too.

well, you could suprise them by having the whole house spring cleaned really good and before your parents come back (just right before) have some pretty spring flowers on the dining table waiting for their arrival~ ...you know to show appreciation for letting them trust you enough (18 yr old) to stay alone and behave and not throw drunken parties.... sounds like a great idea doesn't it? yes? no? ...maybe?....i think it is a splendid idea! happy cleaning!

Tidy up the house and earn brownie points. This is a good opportunity to show how responsible you are.

dude - invite me over!!!
A lot depends on how old you are. If you're over 18, have some guys over and bring in some strippers. If you're under 18, be very careful about what you do, because your friends may not respect your stuff as much as you do. Things get broken.
Rent Risky Business and you'll see what can happen.
