Only to give answers saying that there is no God, and to point out how stuipid believers are. Isn't the answer really, that they have no life? Do they feel that by putting down religeous people, that they are able to justify their own disbelief?

Atheism and agnostism can be spiritual beliefs, so we can use this section to post questions related to our spiritual beliefs. Some religions are atheistic or agnostic, like hmm...Buddhism, so they will use this section to discuss their religious beliefs. We have every right to be here. If you only want the opinions of a specific religion, go to a forum dedicated to that religion.
Why do christians and similiar answer our questions by saying we are stupid for not believing in whatever they want us to believe in? Is the answer really, that they have no life? Do they feel that putting down people with different beliefs makes their beliefs more relevant?
AND while we are on the subject, can anyone give me a reason homophobe @ssholes spend so much time in the 'Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered' section? That makes absolutely no sense. If they are so disgusted by us why are they constantly asking for our advice? If they want to post something about how much they hate us it should be in 'Society & Culture-General'

No, they do it to save you from a life of pointless worship and praise!

Seriously, an atheist can and often is interested in why people believe in God and how that affects their life and the lives around them. One can think about the idea of God without believing in God. And "religion" apart from its theology is a subject of interest to non-believers. Some are concerned about the influence of evangelical Christians on the free exercise of science, government and public discourse. And yes, there are trolls too, just as there are Christian trolls. There are many ways to understand how the world works, especially the invisible world of desire, will and meaning. Atheists and humanists have as much to contribute as Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Pagans, etc. To assume that one "owns" R&S because one has the right ideology sounds a little arrogant to me.

(BTW, you made TWO typos.)

Equal and opposite reaction... I see people who call themselves Christians attacking the human dignity/rights of other people based on what some people call "morals" from a narrow view, in a country that is a Democracy, not a theocracy, and trying to impose their views in public schools that should be free from religious bias, kinda like the GOVERNMENT and LAWS. There are also those (so-called)Christians who outright attack people randomly, verbally and some physical attacks based on the same narrow views, just because someone's atheist or don't share the same version of "morals" and "values". When you generate less than kind, un-Christ-like values and project, you usually get at least, an equal and opposite reaction....

When will people learn that kind speech that is of REAL benefit only is what ends conflict? Wisdom, patience, altruism, mindfulness... and so on. It takes 2 to tango.

Did you know that the rights of an Atheist are less than those of religions? In many states its required to believe in a god in order to hold public office, or even be a juror. Religious beliefs affect our lives, that is why we are here.

While I consider myself to be a hopeful agnostic, rather than an atheist, I can tell you why......These people are seeing your questions pop up in the main "Society & Culture" page, where questions appear as they come in. I respond to questions about religion all the time, yet can't say that I've ever been to any specific Religion secions.

It is because they think they are right. They really don't know. Actually I feel that most atheists just reject Christianity in general. They seem to have some sort of vendetta. It is ok though, don't let it bother you- because their belief in no-god is just as illogical as someone else's belief in god. There isn't proof either way. I am not saying that either point of view is wrong, just that they are equally illogical.

The category is Religion & Spirituality, not Believers in Religion & Spirituality.

Personally, I try to not put down the religious... I'm not always successful, but I try to be factual and explain things as I see them. I try to show that atheists in general are not bad people, just people who see things differently than the religious folk.

That said, we put up with an equal amount of nastiness from those who are taught to not be nasty to others. Our non-belief deserves to be here just as much as your belief.

I didn't realize that by studying philosophy and psychology full-time at University, and by answering a few simple questions on Yahoo! Answers, it would constitute as having no life.
