Well, I think this question was posted just to see what kind of ire it would raise.
Nonetheless....
Canada has an equal or higher standard of living, and definitely a higher quality of life, than the U.S. This from an American who has experienced both and prefers Canada.

Before I answer almost everything your asking about is un heard of. Canada does not have a lower standard of living Canada has building codes, fire, police, EMS, the highest rate of people in the world to get a post secondary education Canada has most of the worlds fresh water there is no shortage. At this time liberalism is not more rampant in fact, Canada has a Conservative party government. Please not that the liberal government of the past voted in our charter of rights and freedoms.

what hole did you just crawl out of? are you Paris Hilton in disguise or something?
I go to Canada all the time, and there are plenty of decent places to go to, as well as crappy places just like in the US.
I work in a very liberal town in the PNW and this building where I work is so crappy, most of the plumbing doesn't work, there's no hot water, you have to pick between plugging in the microwave or the toaster.
Maybe in Canada things are just a little bit less fancy in some places, but I don't think they're that terribly bad.
I do have to say that the roads were pretty bad compared to where I live, but nothing like Mexico or a 3rd world country.

Well, you have asked ten questions on Yahoo! Answers and all the ones I looked at were racist, sexist, anti-gay, or otherwise inflammatory. So I am pretty sure you are just trolling here to try to push people's buttons.
For anyone else who may possibly lend any credence to this guy's comments (heck - all you have to do is look at the username to know he is full of it), here are a couple of comments:
1) We have more houses with running water in Canada than they have guns in Texas (It was close, but I counted and we had three more faucets)
2) Electricity is on more often than in California, but at times we have to use the hair dryers to melt the ice on the door to the igloo.
3) Canadians are very liberal, but if a thirty-something female Democrat or Republican wants to visit Canada, I could be whatever she wants me to be.
The only sad thing about your question is that it perpetuates the idea that Americans are ignorant and arrogant, which some people believe.
I personally have been to over ten states (From New York to California, Illinois to Texas) and with the exception of the Klan rally in Ohio, I think the average American is easy going, fun, and usually respectful of others. Just like us canucks.

Have you been living in a cave for the past 20 years?!
Canada has a higher standard of living than the US and many other countries. We're part of the top 5 (according to the UN) I might as well say that if I went to america, since everyone is a republican, i'd be shipped back because I'm not white.

the standard of living here is, if anything, better than in the states, there are never blackouts, unlike in the states, of course we always have electricity and running water, not to mention a decent health care and education system (hence the more liberal attitude)
You are very unlikely to be accosted here (unlike in the states, where violence reigns supreme), we are generally friendly and considerate people. The attitude you are displaying in this question will ensure that you have no friends if it continues, but we won't hurt you.

First off, you are an idiot if you think Canada has infrastructure problems. You will find all the roads paved, the lights on and the heat just fine. It is true that Canada's inner cities and suburban donut rings are violent and sometimes are more violent than their American equivalent. This is because Canadians are the most politically correct people on the planet, and never discuss the very real black gang problem they have.

I love how all the Canadians attack this person(who IS an idiot) with stereotypes of Americans - the reasons you are attacking this person is because they are perpetuating stereotypes about Canadians.
We're seemingly showing how 'tolerant', 'accepting' and 'friendly' are becoming steroypes of Canadians, instead of fact.
Btw. Im Canadian. But I'm not anti-American
