I'll play along and assume you are generally ignorant.

An editor makes sure all copyright details are met in order that any book from any author is properly prepared for publication, whether it be in a daily print format or in a book.

A proofreader insures that the typsetter does a correct rendering of all letters, punctuation and capitalization in order that they publish a correct form of the author's works.

God doesn't NEED proofreaders, but since He doesn't personally print His word and we, as His Children DO, we need someone to check it and make sure that there are no errors.

By the way, one of the most popular goofs in the Bible (and a highly sought after edition) is the one that left out the word "NOT" in Exodus where it's written "Thou shalt not commit adultery".

Instead, it created an invitation to do so...

God needs neither an editor nor proofreader.

When translating God's Word, or any work, editors and proofreaders are necessary. This goes for the BIble, Qur'an, Bhagavad Gita, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, The DaVinci Code, Of Mice and Men, War and Peace, anything that's been translated into other languages.

Keep in mind that the Bible has been translated into over 1,000 current languages. Anytime you have a translation, the sentence structure and wording must change in order for the translation to be readable.
In any dictation of a written book, there will always be typos and grammatical incongruences.

For instance, when the new testament books were written down and copied, they were written down in a very strict order. The columnized each letter, and copied exactly. If ever a letter carried to far over the column, that copy was destroyed because it didn't fall in line with the one it was copied from. They did this to ensure accuracy, however, in doing this they removed all punctuation.
When we translate the original texts today, we have to add both punctuation, and adjust for sentence structure and vocabulary.

It is a quite tedious process.

Because god has the mind of a 2 year old. We acted up so he flooded us, we ignored him so he enslaved us, we said sorry so he took us back and told us to kill everyone else, we ignored him, he enslaved us, repeat 3000 years....he knocks up a virgin and gives us a son to die for our sins but we have to buy into his garbage or face eternal suffering...I tried to do the same thing when I was 2 to my ant farm.

its because they dont have specific translations for certain words, which means, if they want to put something in the bible they easily can. be an editor of the bible and.....
