It's really your choice. Do what you think is right. I don't know specifically how God is leading you, but I do know that he will provide. The biggest thing you have to ask yourself is not whether the decision itself is right, but are you making it for the right REASON. If the reason and motivation is good, then it's your choice, God will meet you wherever you go!

If you feel it is the right thing, and the best thing for you, AND added to that you feel God saying get out, then DO IT. As far as worries about finding a job, and place to live, I'd say that is a moot point. While I don't know your situation, I do know that God will provide a job and a place to live, (he even provides water in the desert) you only have to ask him to open the right door. Trust me, he will do it. If you want to work, he will get you a job and provide for your family.

Pray in Spirit & Truth to Father God. Thank God for Christ Blood that cleanses you from all sins. Ask, praising God in Spirit, then answer the truth, abiding in joy that comes from faith in Gods true direction.

If you can praise God in Spirit & Truth that you can go home to your family now, and feel the joy that comes from faith, then you have assurance you can. If you can't get that joy, then it isn't true. Because Love rejoices in the truth. Then you can pray in spirit that you can go home later, and if you have joy in this truth (Love rejoices in the Truth) then you can go home later.

You have to have assurance from God that whatever you decide is the right decision. This is a big decision. And I don't think that God would want you to leave the military illegally. There are always exceptions, but you would also have to suffer the conscequences of that.

Obey God first. Also, praying this way in a Christian prayer group will confirm the true answer.

Okay - take God out of the equation, for the moment. Is it a sensible move? What if you had no god to blame/fall back on? If you had no belief, you'd have to trust your own judgement and fate. We cannot read into the future, you have to go forward in trust, not necessarily in God, but in life. Mistakes happen, but you are no more special than the next man. Take your fair share of the letdowns in life. Do what YOU think is best and go forward in hope.

GOD will not forsake you. You just need to do this.

Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD: Stand ye in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.

Just pray about it and ask other people to pray about it for you. ask god to help guide you in the right directon. It is hard i understand i've been there but you just have to trust that God will guide you in the right direction. Just pray and if you still feel the same way about the military after praying about it every day for a week then just do it.
I will pray for you too.

Have you prayed? God has said, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (James 1:5-6).

you have to pray. if you strongly feel that God is showing you where to go, then talk and listen to God. don't harden your heart even if its not exactly the choice you would have made. And God said," For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jerimiah 29:11

The one thing that you can know for sure is that god has nothing to do with it -- not that the idea of god is provably wrong, but it is provably useless. So, forget the religious nonsense, and concentrate on what is right for you -- and for your country. The bad guys want to do you in; what do you propose to do about it?
