Edinburgh is the place to go. It's got a wee bit of everything. History and culture, good restaurants, theatres, brilliant shopping, plenty to see and do.

In Edinburg you'll find good days out and get the within scoops on the most effective little-known areas waiting to be discovered. Edinburg can also be for family times out to cultural pursuits. Edinburgh has lots of prime attractions to satisfy all choices, including some of Scotland's many visited free and paid-for attractions. Fort William and Lochaber areas are great, secenery is beautiful and people are friendly. Here in Aberdeenshire we have lots to do as well, we have Slaines Castle(10 minutes form my house) where Dracula was based, Aberdeen is great for nightlife, Balmoral Castle, Falconry Centre at Huntly, the list is endless.

Depends what you want to do? If you want the touristy side visit Edinburgh. It has great shops, restaurants and bars and lots of attractions to visit. For sheer beauty and tranquility I recommend Isle of Skye. When the weather's good the driving is superb. It has a lovely distillery in Carbost called Talisker.

Aberdeen , if you want to travel that far, good food, nightlife, shops and you can do the tourist thing of Royal Deeside or travel 102 miles up to Inverness to see the monster.
