Why not? Newcastle United are a good outfit (at times). There's a chance he'll have a UEFA Cup Winners Medal this year - and don't forget we've already won the Inter Toto Cup this year.
The trophy cabinet is close to bursting!!! That's more than Arsenal are going to get this year.

Because it provided a chance to 'step up' the level he was playing at. He could have signed for other english clubs but non that were interested are as big as newcastle.
Besides that I think maybe phillipe albert had a word in his ear and told him what a great place to live and play football it is.

he hasn't signed for Newcastle he is just on loan from standard liege until the end of the season ,god only hopes that he stays as he looks a class act but with the likes of bramble and Carr in our defence i think anyone would look a class act

Im baffled why anyone would,they are the most under achieved club in football history. The night life is good at Newcastle I guess thats the reason :D
