you used to have to hold it with both hands and open your mouth really wide to take a bite.

Now they seem so tiny

Oh, yes, and just this year they shrank, but they were still the same price! I also noticed no one was buying them. The local drug store sells them, and could not keep them in stock, for years this has been happening, especially with the caramel ones. Had to go several times just to find them in stock. Not this year! Been in there 3 or 4 times since they went out on the shelves, and there has been a full box every time. I doubt after all these years the drug store decided that this was the year they would order more. It is that no one is buying, including me.
Hey, Cadbury! Are you listening? Wake up! People do not appreciate the size of things being halved, and still pay the same price for them. Guess what, I love the things, and I did not buy any, either! And the other item on my what not to buy list were Brach's jelly beans. Love them, wait every year with longing to get them, and they too, are hard to find. Not buying tthis year! Brach's is offering a great big plastic bag with two handfulls of jelly beans in it for over $2. And what is with the the other comapanies, they have halved the size and content of their sacks of chocolates, too, and their price is higher..Is there a chocolate shortage I haven't heard about?
The problem is, the candy companies think they have a market in which we are not good parents if we do not buy their stuff, it has become mandatory to have these things. Glad I can choose, and I choose no way!
thanks for this question, I didn't think it was just me noticing!

Well you probably have got a bit bigger but I agree with you they seem to have got smaller. I don't like them anyway but I recall when I was a child, many many years ago, they were approximately the size of an egg. Maybe not an XXL but certainly a standard egg. They aren't now.

Yehr, those were the days when sweets still came in huge jam jars and you could drive the lady in the corner shop crazy asking for a ha'pnth of this or that!

Let me guess - they were 'massive' when you were at school - and had very much smaller hands! I agree though, I think they have shrunk even so.
I remember when Smarties used to be as big as my palm - Oh wait - I was 5 years old at the time!!

I rememember! And the yellow yolk inside used to be so much more creamy. What happened? I think the folks (at cadburys) got bored with the yolks!

It is a combination...they have gotten smaller and we have grown larger.

They are about 1/3 the size now. Charge more and we get less.

Oh bless you were probably about 5 at the time, guess you've grown up like most of us and realised that things get smaller with age.

I still see both. I see the "12 pack" of the little ones where i work and i see the bigger ones that are like the size of a normal chicken egg.

I think that goes for all sweets. Mars bars, Crunchies, Flakes etc. all seemed bigger. And what about Curly Wurlys!!!
