We go to this small town cafe for lunch on occasion and the waitress who waited on us was very kind and he says he has known her for a long time....even before he met me 5 yrs ago.
She came to our table and took our order and on the way off, he grabbed her apron string and gave it a tug and laughed as she walked by. I sat quietly and didnt pretend like I noticed and he proceeded to talk small talk with her when she came to our table and he was joking and laughing and acting perverted.
I raised holy heck when we got home and told him how ashamed I was that he flirted so openly with her in a restaraunt and how bad he made me feel. He is 54 yrs old and the waitress is about 23 or so years old. He denies flirting with her and flat out tells me I am crazy. To make matters worse, she is mennonite. What do you think?

I think you know what you saw and heard and he is trying to make you believe your over reacting. It would be good for the two of yous not to go to that restaurant anymore, especially if he denies it, he will continue the behavior. I don't know anything about mennonites, she's human isn't she. Which means she could be enjoying the attention. Either way to solve the problem is to get rid of it, don't go there with him anymore .

He was flirting with her and you have every right to feel as you do. I could care less if the girl was a mennonite. Your boyfriend better start to respect you or he will soon be an ex boyfriend.

Just a quick question hasn't he always been this way?
My father in law does, but he tries to piss off my mother inlaw who's a saint by the way.
I have to admit I call women Hun, dear, etc. my wife knows that's just me, I can't help it, that's the way my whole family is I thought my name was sweetheart until I was 10
For me it's just an endearing term, generally when I don't know or can't remember someones name.
But he may just be a jerk, only you can answer that

I was told to beware of the guys who are rude to waitresses, because that's how they really feel about women. Maybe since she's Menninite, he feels like it's a safe outlet because it won't go anywhere. Try flirting with him more. I've been with my guy 12 years now and we still flirt.

It would be rude of him to continue flirting with her now that he knows it bothers you.

Well he obviously disrespected you and didn't seem to care when you expressed your feelings to him. And acting "perverted" towards her, yea that's not good. I wouldn't waste another five years with this guy.

He has no respect for you. Show him you respect yourself and refuse to go there with him.. Imagine what he's like when you're not around!
