I agree, this procedure is awful and unnecessary. Eat healthy and exercise, it's not that hard. And defenitely not as hard or deadly as this surgery.

A woman once told me that she couldn't fathom why someone would go through with this surgery our of choice. She'd lost part of her intestines and stomach to disease and now she can only eat about the size of a baked potato. That's crazy! She hates it.

You can moderate yourself, you don't need an amputation to do it. This surgery also has one of the highest risks of complications, it should not be done unless you're horribly obese and cannot help yourself. Mind you you could just use that money to go to a country where there is no food to eat, so in effect you won't be able to eat as much.

As for your question, they should do a toxscreen, if you're on other drugs, especially illegal ones, they may not do it until you clean up your act. You'll also be heavily medicated after the procedure and there could be medication complications if you're on other drugs. Best to let the doctors know.

Just so you know, narcotics can affect the brain in a similar way as anestetics. If they try to give you the drugs you need without knowing, it could very easily kill you. For that reason i'm sure they will test.

Just tell them what you've been taking, as it saves time, and they won't go running off telling the police.

A friend of mine just went through the surgery and yes I believe they did a drug test on her. As well as many, many other tests.
