Okay ,does it really matter which shampoo you use? If so, what's the best kind?

Also, I want to try some side bangs. How do I know that they'll look okay on me before I cut them? I'm getting married this year and dont want to jack my hair up. Help!!

No, it doesn't matter what shampoo you use. You actually shouldn't use just one shampoo, your hair becomes accustomed to it. Switch every few weeks back and forth between a couple different ones.

As for the bangs, see a professional hairdresser for advice. In my opinion, if you don't want to do something that won't be fixable prior to the wedding... than don't do it until after the wedding.

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials, and good luck!

It does matter what brand you use. Redken is the best. They have also started other lines such as Nexxus. Of course, these shampoos are more expensive, but there is a reason for that. As far as I know their products can only be bought in salons.

I probably wouldn't cut my hair unless you're getting married in November of December. Bangs can take a long time to grow out if you don't like them and you'll be stuck in the ackward phase when it comes time for the wedding. Have you picked a style for the wedding yet? Would having shorter hair/bangs in front mess with the style? I wanted to be sure I had plenty of options so I didn't cut my hair for 18 months prior to my wedding. I figured if I selected a short style it was easy enough to cut it, but I wasn't going to get extensions if my hair was too short for the style I selected.

Ask your hairdresser about the bangs when you go in for a trim. She/he will know how to part your hair and clip it so that you can get an idea about how the bangs will look.

As far a shampoo, use one that is right for your hair condition. I don't color my hair, so I use any shampoo. If you color or style a lot, you'll want to use a nurturing product. Just don't let anyone tell you that you need to spend $20 on shampoo. A bottle for $7 or less is fine.

I use matrix which I was told the was the best... but you need to pick the one best for your hair. I use the color safe.
I do know that some shampoos are bad because they strip your hair- pantene was one of those.

For the bangs- go to a pro, I screwed up my bangs one and it was terrible.... I cut them too short and uneven.

It is best to try out any new hairstyles months before the wedding...and to go to a professional stylist who can guide you, based on your dress and figure, as to what will look the best.
