Hi
My bf's mom is cooking all of the food for the baby shower and I had wanted to get her a small statue that I know she would love as a thank you gift. So should I buy a gift for everyone who helped with the babyshower? My best friend is buying our cake and soviners (I bought her soviners for her babyshower) and I thought maybe I would just buy her baby a gift instead of her. I'm not sure. What would you do?
Also, my mom,dad and cousin are paying for everything else. Should I also get them a little something.
I feel very strange accepting gifts from everyone but I especially feel weird about the people who contributed the most. Should I give something in return and if so, what should I give?

yes, it is ettiquette to give the host a gift. Seeing as there seems to be so many people helping out with the shower you dont need to go overboard with the gifts.

At my baby shower I made cake to give each "organiser" on the day. (I did Irish Bun Cake, Irish because it had currants in it not whiskey ;P) I wrapped it in a fun baby boy blue wrapping with a bow - or you could even find some fun cake tins without spending too much money.

Dont feel strange about accepting gifts from everyone - its your day and it IS SO MUCH FUN!!! You should also write down all the names of who bought you what, so you can send everyone a personal thank you notelet.

Have fun on your big day!!

These are often called hostess gifts - for the hosts of the shower. Ones Ive gotten are sometimes $5 gift certificates, plants, flowers, wine, etc, or if you can bake, do like banana bread or something.

It's so nice that your family seems to get along so well and that you want to thank everyone for their help.

You will be thanking these people for years to come for all their help with the babies. At my shower, I gave my mother and mother-in-law (hosts) a framed picture of the baby's sonogram. Maybe something like that would be nice. At my son's first birthday, we also got my parents and inlaws a nice bottle of wine and thanked them for all their help.

of all the many baby showers i've ever been to in my life the expected mom doesn't give gifts to anyone, why don't you just take your parents, cousin and b.f.'s mom, best freind out to dinner?

my mom and sister threw my shower. I gave them each a box of chocolates to show my appreciation.
