What will it look like? I mean, will attacking Iran further complicate Russia's role, as a weapons supplier, and will somehow get involved directly? And now with China's stance as a supporter of the USSR, could there be a greater chance than ever for a giant conflict to take place?

Not USSR. Russia. They are still Iran's weapons supplier

No. Russia has no financial ability to support a war and the Chinese economy is so intertwined with the economy of the USA that no benefit could come from either country should an engagement take place.

There will be no "major" global war that we have seen in World War I/II for at least another 50-100 years, IMHO

I think it is unlikely that there will be a world war three in the near future. Though many countries dislike each other and are growing slowly more polar in their views, the kind of immense slaughter brought about by the world wars is still not here. Of course the situation isn't helped by the US' gung-ho attitude, and Russia's increasing isolation and loss of freedoms - but this is nothing like the "we are going to do what we want, invade who we want, and kill who we want and you are not going to be able to stop us" attitude of the Axis in the world wars.

The presence of nuclear weapons is also a massive deterrent to world war. In a world war you have total war, EVERYTHING is a target - from tank factories to schoolchildren - anything that will help you win the war. Nuclear weapons would certainly do that. If nuclear weapons hadn't ever been invented then you can bet communism and capitalism would have slugged it out in the 50's to win the world.

Well, of course we're approaching WW3. We're approaching everything that lies in the future. What did you think? That the future was getting farther away? Is that what you thought? I mean, Jeez, use your brain, won't you?

Forget about WW3. It`s not gonna happened. Just live your life, be happy and let others live their life.
