white or if it has to be wood choose either a very light wood or a very dark wood. i think anything else might drown it out.

Keep in mind that your teenager is just around the corner to being an adult. I would stay with a traditional clear varnished wood. It is light colored and will stay in style a long, long time.

Any pastel color. Pastel colors are soft, pale shade. It brings a calm atmosphere to the bedroom, and at the same time brightens the room.
