I'm not Christian, have no special lve for Christians, I'm not even a good Muslim as I think Jesus is dead and rotted away somewhere near my parents old house.

That having been said, your question is bunk. The most science could prove is that Stigmata can be faked. I don't think anybody ever doubted that. It cannot prove that every stigmata is a fake, and believe it or not Scientists and doctors examined Padre Pio, a famous stigmatist, and did not find evidence of it being faked. They were forced to resort to pseudo-scientific explenations, like that he believed it so much it manifested physically for psychological reasons.

Nothing spiritual can be proven or disproven by science. Science by definition is the study of the natural universe in natural terms. And the fact that the Stigmata has been faked by some individuals obviously doesn't say anything about the legitimacy of other cases.

I can't remember hearing a news story where all stigmatas in history, or even all the ones occuring today, are fake.

Is there any reliable source for this - showing that stigmatas can be faked.?

So, it can be faked. Yes, that has been shown. But can you produce your proof that every stigmata has been faked? If science has proven it, it is reproducable and logical. So, let me see your proof.

Personally, I have problems with it but I do not believe you ought to make claims you cannot show to be the truth.

The great Stigmatists like Padre Pio were never disproved. There are some fakes just like any other thing that is used to take away from the validity of the real things (Blessed Virgin on a grilled cheese sandwich.... come one)

I want to see this article that you say disproves him as a genuine stigmatist.

Los Angeles, Alta California - August 13, 2003 - (ACN) Never has a film produced so much controversy, months before its scheduled release date, than Mel Gibson's "The Passion". The film depicting the last twelve hours on earth of Jesus Christ is scheduled to be released on Easter of next year but already a host of Jewish political leaders and rabbis are attempting to censor it, in its present form, because they say it is anti-semitic. The Jews are worried that the film will unleash a wave of hatred, bigotry and anti-semitism because "The Passion", they say, portrays them as "Christ killers".

The film, however, is based on biblical and historical fact. Mel Gibson based the script on the diaries of St. Anne Catherine Emmerich that are collected in the book "The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ", on Mary of Agreda's "The City of God" and on the New Testament Gospel of Luke, John, Matthew and Mark. The Jews are mostly concerned that the film includes scenes that are described in the Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich's diaries. St. Anne Catherine Emmerich was an Augustinian nun who lived in Germany between 1774 and 1824. "

They have also "disproved" the existence of God, Jesus divinity etc. But I don't see that stopping anyone. Just because a scientist can prove how to fake it doesn't mean he faked the stigmata. I would like to see this scientists amazing discovery please. :)

I have 3 out of 6 stigmata! The spear in the side, hole in one wrist and ankle. No crown of thorns or other limb holes, sigh.

Stigmata is a type of cheese.

If scientists have told you it's fake, tell them for me it's every bit as nutritious as swiss cheese.

SOME Christians do.

A few weeks ago there was a case of a kitchen worker in a Texas school finding a picture of Mary that had been burned into a pizza pan. People actually flocked to see this miracle.

Some people will believe anything.
