My husband and I are moving to Lake County, Illinois later this year. Can anyone tell roughly me how much babysitters there charge? His job will allow us to live anywhere in the county, but we are probably going to live in either Waukegan or Grayslake. Also, please include what kind of daycare you are talking about (in a caregiver's home or in a center and full-time or part-time) and which town.

We have a 2 yo, not yet potty trained. She is our only child so far. Also any suggestions about a particular caregiver would be greatly appreciated.

Aaaggghhhh!!! Definitely live in Grayslake if you have the option... Waukegan has such a bad rap and well known for the low lifes that live there...(sorry for you few decent people)
Grayslake has better schools (from what I hear-my friend teaches there)... I live in Wisconsin, so unfortunately I don't know any specifics...just hear say.... I don't really hear too much about Grayslake-(It is closer to Gurnee, which has a lot of shopping...) I have been there, had a relative that lived there....so there will be good and bad wherever you go..but I have NEVER heard anything good about Waukegan. Another friend of mine is an attorney, and she works in Waukegan quite a bit...many many bad stories...
