Pit bull cannot articulate why it killed. If I protect my family and end up killing someone, do I have to be put down? If a person lives to be 85+ years old, commit a crime at 15-30ish or so, don't they have time to reform, and try to atone for their actions (of course they never can replace or do enough)? Although... my thought is, take a life, you lose all liberties, society puts you to work and you have to earn... or death (but that's just me).
The thought is a dog is an animal, lower level of thinking and cannot adjust if going down the wrong path. Dogs do live in the present so I personally don't see it that way. However, if a dog killed someone I knew or maimed them in any way... the dog needs to be put down (unless it was the person's fault some how like they attacked the dog and dog fought back or something).
Interesting.

People think that all pits are bad dogs just because of the bad rep they have. People have to understand that any dog can be made violent it is all is how you raise them. I know many pits that are the nicest dogs I have ever seen. In my opinion if you can't properly take care of an animal don't have one.

I dont think its right either but-pitbulls are the strongest dogs.Their jaws have the strongest pressure of any of the dogs.Alot of people tend to make these dogs fight because of this.Once this dog is taught to fight to kill-that is it-most of the time, they cannot be placed due to the killing instinct.
Alot of people are afraid of them because of this.
I do believe that there are alot of nice pitbulls out there-look at the dog shows. It is the way they are raised.
I think if a person kills-then they should be killed too-who are they to take a life?

PETA spends quite a bit of money to support the elimination of the pitbull breed. They believe they should all be killed, not just violent ones.

General view, dogs are not worth rehabilitating.
It is questionable whether they can be totally rehabbed anyway (would require a very good trainer and excellent owner afterward)
