on a new tattoo because I work and cannot wash my leg 3 times a day so I was wondering if sanitizer is ok? can the rubbing alcohol in it cause any damage?

I would just wait until I got home. The alcohol in the sanitizer will most likely cause a reaction, and/or discomfort. I'm sure you'll be fine to wait. Just keep your ointment or lotion on it, be sure to wash your hands first.

Don't use purell or anything similar on it. You really don't need to wash it 3 times a day. When I got my tattoo I washed it when I took my shower in the morning and during the day, I would just make sure that it was moist by applying lotion on a regular basis. If I took a shower at night, then I would wash it again. But that's it.

Since it has not been established what kind of work you do - is there a likelihood of you getting it dirty at work? In that case, I would say it is better to clean it than to let it go all day until you get home but I would pack some alcohol free baby wipes for the job, just to remove surface dirt.
If you are in a clerical or similar job then by all means, wait it out until you get home as others here have advised.

Do not use alcohol based products. A girl on here the other day asked about it because her artist told her to use it and the tat faded big time.
Your best bet is to wait till you get home. Or just wash it, unless you don't want people in the office to know that you got one.

It will dry out your tat and be very unpleasant.
You don't need to wash a tattoo 3 times a day, once a day in the shower is fine. You do need to apply non-scented lotion a few times a day.

Yeah it will cause damage, do not use anything with alcohol in it on a fresh tattoo. just try and find time to keep it clean maybe once before your shift at work and then right after if you can get to it in the middle of your day.

DO NOT USE IT!!! It's ok if you wash it in the morning and then when you get home. rubbing alcohol will do damage.

I can also attest to the fact that it hurts! on broken skin.
