We must pray without ceasing and follow His word and try daily to be more like Him. We must pray for others and be a witness of the Goodness of God and not become complacent, but always working to get closer to God and deepen our spirituality. When we do these things, we are doing the work of God.

First you must define "god".

If god is what people tell me he is (omnipotent, omniscient, etc.) let god do god's work. It seems strange that someone who is omnipotent needs others who are not to do his work. This only leads to punishing them for screwing it up when he could have done it right the first time.

Personally, I focus on making this world full of people a better place in whatever ways I can find.

Well, follow the two big rules that sum up the Ten Commandments. Love God with all your body, soul, and mind and your fellow humans as yourself. Live this way with everyone you meet and try and think in both rules "If I was this person, how would I want to be treated." Also be attentive to God in prayer and the Word of God. God has a plan for each of us, be patient and open to it and pray to be able to do His work as He wants it to be done.

In order to do God's work, we must become the hands and feet of Jesus.

Live each day as if it was you last and that God is "REALLY" watching you.
Live an honest and simple life.
Be kind to all you meet.
Try hard to really get to know and understand someone you don't get along with and work to make them a friend.
Keep joy in your heart and forgive yourself.
Try to love God as much as he loves you.
Mostly...do MANY random acts of kindness as often as possible.

Make every action a devotion or act of worship of God...and expect nothing in return. Offer all the fruits of the action to God as well.

Do nothing for yourself.

This is a very good question! :) Read bible, obey his commandments, pray w/out ceasing, seek Him in all you do, be more like Him by treating others the same way you would want to be treated. As you can and your heart guide you help the one in need, donate to charity or feed the homeless etc.
Work ship Him! wow I could keep on going thanks for this question, it made me remember what I need to do.

I believe that the fruit presented in this chapter of John's Gospel is referring to other souls who we have witnessed to and have lead to the Saving Knowledge and Grace of Jesus Christ. Christ does the Saving but we have a responsibility to share the Gospel of Grace with others as He gives us the Opportunity.

John 15:2 - Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

John 15:4 - Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

John 15:5 - I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 15:8 - Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

John 15:16 - Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Repent. Confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, believe in your heart that GOD has raised Jesus from the dead, accept Him as your Lord, and you shall be saved!
