3 MEN GO INTO A MOTEL. THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK SAID THE ROOM IS £30, SO EACH MAN PAID £ 10 AND WENT TO THE ROOM.

A WHILE LATER THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK REALIZED THE ROOM WAS ONLY £ 25,SO HE SENT THE BELLBOY TO THE 3 GUYS' ROOM WITH £ 5.

ON THE WAY, THE BELLBOY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SPLIT £ 5 EVENLY BETWEEN 3 MEN, SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A £ 1 AND KEPT THE OTHER £ 2 FOR HIMSELF.

THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID £ 9 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A TOTAL OF £ 27, ADD THE £ 2 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = £ 29.

WHERE IS THE OTHER POUND ?

Cost of the room is 30. But discounted to 25. So, giving the men 1 pound each, that goes down to 27 pounds. The bellboy got the other 2 pounds, that's down to 25. You're supposed to subtract the 2 pounds, not add it. This riddle actually tricks you into thinking you're supposed to add the 2 pounds, not subtract.

At the end of it, each man has £1, the bellboy has £2 and the hotel has £25

3 + 2 + 25 = 30

what is the problem?

it just how you do the math....

the cost of the motel was 30 dollars
but it was really 25, $5 off
30-5= 25
the bellboy had $5 but gave the men a total of 3 dollars
25+3=28
the bellboy kept 2 dollars
28+2= 30

It all makes sense - $30-25 = $5 , which $3 got given back and the bellboy kept $2. It equals back to the $30 they put down. --the last 2 sentences(this meant..... and where is the ....) is you asking, right? Because the math makes perfect sense.

Bellboy either dropped it, or Man Behind Desk gave them wrong change

They didnt pay £30 as some of that money was returned. They paid £9 each equaling £27. £25 for the room and £2 for the bell boy.

Once they have the refund that £30 figure is irrelevent and should be ignored.

you're supposed to subtract the last 2 that the bellboy kept, not add it.

it's tricky!

I think everyone here is correct, you shouldn't add the 2 that the bell boy kept, it should be subtracted.
