Im having a valentines day wedding (2-14-09). The colors are black, white and red. I am making my own centerpieces because I cant find this design. Its going to be a square mirror, a black and white or clear vase, red roses, and red and white tealights.....

I found the mirrors at ikea 4 pk for 4.99, I found some vases at ikea too but they are 3.99 each. I still want to look for vases though. I am looking for a small fat vase where I can put a few flowers in each and it wont be blocking the table for conversation.

Also, where can I find the tealights for cheap? I want scented ones....wedding cake and red wine preferably. I need to buy at least 100 of each of them. Its a big wedding! Please help.

It is still a long way off. You can be thifty if you look around. We used tiki torches for my wedding and by buying them in fall the year before (as my wedding was in June), we got them for $1 each. Vases go on sale all the time. Don't buy until you find a good deal on them. Michaels does coupons in the paper for 20% off one item. As a few neighbors to clip that coupon for you. Buy them each individually and you can save a good deal of money. Will it take a while--yes but you have 2 yrs. If you decide you do want red and white, I'd get a pack of white ones on sale like they said at Walmart for the red ones on sale. I found these on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Hand-Poured-Candles-Red-Unscented-12-Tealights_W0QQitemZ220091438042QQcategoryZ46775QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

(BTW agree with everyone else about using unscented candles. Flowers are usually scented enough for any table)

I also agree with what you said about not blocking off the table from conversation. I have been to weddings where the centerpiece was a really expensive round ball of flowers but everyone thought it was in the way.

Hope this helps. And shop around! You have lots of time to find good deals.

I really wouldn't do scented ones, especially 2 different smells....you are gonna have food im sure and the smell will mess with the taste of it, also the smells may be conflicting which wouldnt be good, and 200 of them may put off a pretty strong smell that could give a lot of guests like me wiht allergies a headache....just go with the plain ones, you'll be better off im sure

DO NOT BUY SCENTED CANDLES
Sounds nice but many people like me are allergic to them and your not suppose to burn scented candles with serving food, it ruins the taste. Just use normally ikea unscented candles, you guest will thank you. Besides 100 scented candles would be stinky!

Don't bother with scented tealights; not worth the extra expense.

Your centerpiece sounds beautiful, but I would suggest not using sented candles. The smell could become overwhelming and make your guests uncomfortable.

Easy, try Michael's Craft store. We got some GREAT little fat hurricane lamps for ours and we just put some pretty colored rocks and a votive candle in and they look fantastic.

Check Michaels for the vases.

Here are some ideas for tea lights:
