illusion

love IS real. To love and be loved is one of the greatest things in life.

The illusions come in the form of lust (satisfying the carnal desires only) and infatuation (a deep sense of liking for someone which is usually motivated by what that person can do for us).

When you love someone for real, their needs begin to supercede your own. Your desire becomes to make them happy and whole, even when it means sacrifice on your part in their behalf.

Likewise, when you are loved, the person puts time, energy and effort into making you feel important, special and needed.

Love is NOT blind, but instead patient with the faults of another.

Love is NOT just sex. While a genuinely deeply enriching part of love involves sex, it is an unfortunate truth that people who have sex are not necessarily committed to each other, but instead are simply seeking gratification of personal desires and passions.

Love is NOT power over the other person. When you love someone, you seek to see them succeed and become a person of value. Love sees them as an individual with strength, talent and worth. Lust sees them as a possession to be jealously guarded.

Love gives space for each person to be themselves and to be accepted as such.

having experienced true love for 23 (almost 24!) years, I can tell you that love is real, it is important and it can breathe life into you to know that you are honestly, deeply and truly loved in the way that you need to be loved.

remember that everything good has a counterfeit that is bad.
Love is kind, it doesn't boast about itself OR the relationship, love doesn't seek to be "all powerful", love doesn't envy or become jealous, love doesn't seek it's own way all of the time. Love is faithful and true.

hope this helps.

Its a balanced connection with someone with qualities of infatuation and so forth...illusion shouldn't be apart of love, because that negates the very meaning of love..

Well love is "really" out there. Some people just fall in love with the idea of love so they make it up in their head.
