Lymph nodes swell due to infection and in such cases, the node feels hot and swollen and tender. Depending upon the location, it may be near neck, throat, armpits, groin etc. If you feel a lump which is tender to touch and if you are running a low fever, it could be a swollen lymph node. put your hands under your chin and see if you feel knots on both sides if only one is swollen it could be allergies or a tooth infection
