I applyed for evergreen State in Washington and they sent me an id number and 2 more steps i had to fill out about financial aid, but they never told me if i was accepted or not. Does it look like I have a good shot in getting in then? I dont understand?

You certainly might have a shot, so make sure you complete the remaining two steps. However, there could be other reasons for the correspondence you've been getting.

First, at the school at which I work, the Admissions Office assigns Student ID Numbers to every single person who applies to the school. I believe this is how many schools operate, since not everyone has a social security number by which to track their information. The ID number alone should not be seen as an indication that you have been admitted but is at least a good sign that your application is in process.

Sometimes, the Financial Aid Office works fairly independently of the Admissions Office. Your school's Financial Aid Office might simply be corresponding with anyone whose application hasn't been outright denied. In fact, once upon a time, my office used to send letters to *everyone* in our (Financial Aid) computer system who was missing financial aid documents. Many students mistook this as a sign that they had been admitted when, in fact, all we wanted to do was ensure that, if they WERE admitted, they would be complete.

I recommend completing the next two steps ASAP. There could be the strong possibility of something in the future coming in the mail but got seperated from the other piece of mail. If you have any other questions, call the admissions office or the number given on the letter.
