There are a lot of idiomatic phrases used in churches and everyday language. We often use these w/o noticing them. However, they certainly confuse non-native speakers.

Can you help me think of some of these amusing wordplays?

A few to start this off.....

Why would you want to quit smoking cold turkey, its yummy?

There is no way I'd want to be born again; it made me a cone head the first time.

And personally, I got busted while living in Switzerland for saying "Ich been warum” Literally "I am warm" figuratively "I am gay"
