I took a job with a very large company but only worked there for a few days for personal reasons beyond my control. Health insurance went into effect on the first day of employment. Will they be required to offer me COBRA? While they were very nice and understanding I am not comfortable asking them this question.

you usually have to work at a company for a certain amount of time like 6 months to be eligible. when you are terminated for any reason you will receive a letter from the insurance company explaining your eligibility for cobra if you are eligible. my advice is to shop for a personal health insurance plan because they do not cost as much as you think and are basically the same as cobra costs anyway.

You should really contact the human resources department. Things of this nature should not be tip-toed around. Go directly to HR or the Benefits administrator, that is what they are there for. Good Luck

if indeed they paid your insurance coverage and you have that knowledge. i would say yes. warning: usually the company then offers you their "cobra" payment. it is usually sky high.
