Dr Jonathan Miller does some wonderful (assemblage) sculptures using pieces of metal and construction that had , otherwise, been discarded; I suppose one could say they are recycled objects.

I know I haven't hit the British artist hall of fame yet (myself!) but I also use recycled things in my textured work. Go to :
http://www.maureengrayson.com/ and click on 'Textures & Movement' in my portfolio! ... Well, you never know, I could hit the big time one day!!!

Many artists these days use 'found objects'. This practice can be linked back to Marcel Duchamps use of everyday objects in his 'ready mades' - these were things already in existence which he adapted slightly and presented as art.
Some key people who use found or 'recycled' things in their work that havent already been mentioned are -

Tony Cragg - creates sculptural forms from found items

Arman - re-presents everyday items such as cutlery in collections behind glass

Robert Rauschenberg - painted on found objects in his 'combine' paintings

Susan Hiller - is interested in the power of certain objects, presenting collections of found objects that are imbued with a certain power or psychic resonance

Cornelia Parker - takes ordinary found things and alters them or re-presents them in amazing ways

also check out Michael Landy - he's quite into recycling
