I think it would be a combination of nature (genes from your parents) and nurture (how you were brought up). For example, a girl brought up in a christian home of a pastor would probably have less of a chance of developing nymphomania than a girl who is sent to an all girls boarding school and only sees her parents for holidays. However, if two people are brought up in the exact same home conditions, but one child has a history of nymphomania in her parents, don't you think the child who has a history of nymphomania would have a greater chance to develop it?

More than likely not. If you're a child watching a parental figure being promiscuous, there's a good chance you may repeat the same habits. This is why it may appear hereditary.
Most times, overt promiscuity is due to some kind of trauma, usually sexual, that occurred in childhood. I would suggest seeking out counseling if it brings you shame to feel that way. That's my two cents for ya.

There are two schools of thought.... it could be pshychological, caused by head injury or some other circumstance ...
It can be caused bycertain underlying diseases... like Huntington's disease... which is hereditary.. It can also be caused by a dopamine imbalance... which could be a result of a fault in chromasomal DNA...

Mine took a lot of studying and practice, I wish it had been hereditary. Never mind the hours of effort made it worthwhile.
