Before painting your trim you may need a primer specified for the type of material it is. After 1 or 2 coats of the primer you should be ready to paint streak free. Also check the type of brush you are using if a flat trim use a sm roller.

Isn't it ridiculous how you can spend $33,000. for a new mobile, then find all of the cheap shoddy material they use in it?? I have one of those, with fake wood trim & am currently redoing it, 1 room at a time. I'm painting my fake trim white using a good primer & semi-gloss enamel with good results. Looks much better. Be sure to use a good brush so it doesn't leave brush marks. Good luck w/yours.

If it's very plastic-y, you may need a special paint that adheres to plastic.

I'd suggest trying to paint a very small area with regular latex paint. After it dries (give it several days), rub with your finger. If it sticks well, you can keep painting. It it rubs off or peels, you'll need to get a different paint or prep the area better.

Prepping the area means making sure it's clean and free of oils. Then, sanding it to create a somewhat rough surface. Ensure you get all the dust and bits off.

Kilz water based primer. this stuff is the best. it covers anything and gives a good surface for paint to stick to. also try a natural hair paint brush. synthetics tend to streak everything. or you could try a sponge brush. i would definitely primer all door trim and doors, cause it help the paint stick and because door trim and door take alot of abuse.

you would be better off priming it first, use a good primer like zinnzer or X-I-M and then topcoat it with an oil based enamel like benjamin moore satin impervo....use a foam roller if you can...if you cannot get a wooster yachtsman china bristle brush and use that and you will not get any brush marks....painting contractor.

Personally, I would`nt! Sounds to me like it would look great!!! You might consider lightly sanding the paneling to accept the paint.

yes u can... you can use a direct to metal paint u get from the store...or u can prime it then paint it... another idea is to make sure u have a good paint brush like a purdy or corona brand..they are very good long lasting brushes...the cheaper brushes tend to leave more streaks..
