How do I get through to the Passport agency, they (a live agent) never answers the 1(877) 487-2778 number?

I went to a Post office to make a passport for my daughter, she is only five months old, I went on Feb. 09, 2007. We are traveling to Canada by plane on March 29, 2007, so far we still don't have her passport yet, we checked the status on the website travel.state.gov & it said that it's being processed by the Charleston (a similar sounding name) location & it can take up to 10 weeks, so it may be ready on or around April 08, 2007. Our tickets are non - refundable & we were going to my parents for the passover holiday, I need to expedite her passport but I am never able to get through to a live agent when I call 1(877) 487-2778 How can I expedite her passport?

I did the same for my kids in early January and the passports still haven't arrived for a trip we are taking next week.

I finally got through by hitting redail about a million times. Press 1 and then 3 to get through the menus quickly.

Once I got through they said they would process it today and overnight it at no additional cost so they will hopefully arrive tomorrow.

Apparently they sit on them now until the week before you leave and then rush them in one day.
