how do you know you are truly in love? i belive i am in love with my bf but how do i know it isnt lust instead? he was there for me when i was in a bad relationship and was a great friend to me. he never pushed a relationship on me although i knew he still liked me. he is proably my best friend. it is all confusing. i would appriceate any help with this. i am 17 so i am not just a silly girl with a crsh.

You are not just a silly little girl with a crush. You know you are truly in love when you look into the person's eyes and see a future with them. You see everything so much clearer. You feel great when you are around them and you practically get high of them. They make your world go around and you their's. When they are willing to do anything for you and I think your bf is very willing to do anything. Guys do tend to want a lot of physical contact but as long as they still try to make you happy and try to be there for you then it's ok. Love is a complicated thing, there are too many gray areas in the whole situation. Just go with it and see where it leads you, it might be the best thing you ever have done.

You know, you never truly know when you are in love. I have ''been in love'' many times but I'm not still with that person. You can love someone and continue to love them and not be with them. Lust is something else - lust is pretty black and white and you shouldn't confuse it with love.
Whenever I was in love, and thought the love wasn't there any longer, I would imagine him making love to another woman. Depending on how that made me feel was a sure indicator as to whether or not I was still in love with him.

Love endures. Fights, disagreements, arguments, still result in love. You know that person, you help that person, you understand and are unselfish in your actions.
Your quesiton is good, but I don't think you can know until you've gone through more together. A crush is OK to have. It's the first step towards real love.

When your on the phone with them late at night and they hang up you miss them already when it was just two minutes ago
You read their texts over and over again...
You walk really slow when you're with them
You feel shy whenever you're with them...
When you think about them, your heart beats faster and faster
You smile when you hear their voice...
When you look at them, you can't see the other people around
you... all you see is him/her...
You start listening to slow songs, while thinking of them
They become ALL you think about...
You get high just from their scent...
You realize that you're always smiling to yourself when you think about them...
You would do anything for them...
While reading this, there was one person on your mind the whole time.....
