You should have puppies, and mom, de-wormed at 2 and 4 weeks of age

Puppies (and their mom) should be dewormed at 2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks of age and then periodically there after. Adult dogs should have a fecal test done at least twice yearly and dewormed if needed.

Do NOT use OTC dewormers. They are pretty much worthless and can be dangerous especially to puppies. Also in order to properly deworm you need to know what type(s) of worms you are dealing with.Only a fecal test done by your vet can tell you that.

If you are buying store bought dewormer you should wait until they are 8 weeks old. If your vet is doing it then during the first set of shots. If the puppy is bad infested with worms, they should be taken to the vet for a diagnosis of the worms so you can make sure they are treated for the right type of worms. Store bought wormers ususally only work on round and hook worms. You may have other issues than just those worms.

All puppies should be wormed starting at 1-2 weeks of age along with the mom and the siblings ,regardless of whether they are inside or out .Puppies are born with worms!Worm every 1-2 weeks until all immunizations are complete then at least 1X per week for ever!!!!!Also I worm In the morning so I can observe feces for infestation ,also they will have the urge to poop soon after you worm them.Good Luck!!Hope I helped.Get your wormer from the vet it won't cost any more than the pet store and it will be accurate dose because puppies can be killed by some wormers!!!!Good Luck!!!

You can have puppies dewormed when they are 4 weeks of age, but people usually prefer having them dewormed during their first set of shots, which is at 6 weeks of age.
