I ask this question because my 14 year old brother Darnell is always talking about white girls. I am his 18 year old older sister. I am tired of it. He goes to a racially mixed school 50% white 50% black roughly. He has pictures of all his white girlfriends on his myspace page. Not one black girl. He also has posters up in his room of Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson, Jessica Simpson, and Katie Holmes. I can only imagine what he is doing in there when he locks his door at night. Are white girls the standard of beauty? I want my brother to appreciate black girls too. He says they dont measure up to white chicks. I find this offensive. Am I wrong?

You're not wrong, but it's your issue, not his. Hey - maybe he is just attracted to white girls, you know?
Also, he is only 14 (you KNOW what he's doing in there, don't be naive). He'll likely change what he likes several times over the years. Could be a phase. Don't worry too much. Just wait til he gets totally burned by a white chick...

He is 14, so you can't think that his preferene now will last him the rest of his life. But if it does, then is it really a problem?
But he might like the White girls because they are something different. He is about to go through puberty, the time in his life where he is learning about himself and learning about the opposite sex. So the White girls might be part of his discovery about women.
I remember when I was growing up around his age I hated Black girls. Mainly it was rooted in the fact that I went to an all Black school and the girls there were so mean and catty. So when I got to High School and met some White/Hispanic girls who were actually nice, then it was a change of pace. But then I met some Black girls who were nice as well, then that showed me that the first ones I met were not the norm.
Bottom line, don't sweat it too much. It could be a phase, it could be his like for life. Either way, anything you say or do is not going to change it.

Well, nature has selected him as its weapon (or tool, shud I say) as productivity might hv seemed to be less in the white population at the moment.
Ok, seriously, there is no such thing as who is better overall. They are all the same. It is just a matter of taste (well, did I mention taste :) ). He likes them for a reason (maybe he saw something somewhere?). Good for him. Let him go his way anyway. After all opposite colors r made to be attractive to each other.
(And of course if u r 18 yrs old, u r his elder sister :) u needn't hv mentioned it lol

Don't take it personally. That's what he's attracted to, now. He's only 14, which means he's only just now coming into his sexuality, preferences, tastes etc.: can't expect him to be "eclectic" in his choices at this point.
Not all guys think (is that the right word?) like your brother, at his age or any age. Just because he likes white girls exclusively, doesn't mean that they're a "standard of beauty" with which you have to compete, or by which you fall short. (I sense a little wounded pride in your question.)
Let him be who he is for now. Who he fantasizes about when he masturbates (you did know that's what he's doing behind the locked door, didn't you?) shouldn't concern or upset you.

Some white guys feel the same way about us sisters so, your brother has his on opinion. Maybe no African American women like him. Sometimes you have to take what you can get. It is okay for him to like white females it is not okay for him to say We don't measure up, because you and his mother is a African Queen so he need to appreciate his heritage. Train him in a way that he knows how to approach women of all cultures.

that little brother lost..how is his relationship with you and your mother..it may be a phase or hes been hurt by a black female...white women are no different than any other woman they do the same things its just black women seem less stable because of the sexual glorification of sistas on T.V movies and videos..and alot of black women seem to be caught up in who society says they should be as far as attitude and sexuality..be the example of a strong sista my sister was and I wont say I would never date a white woman but there is something about my queen that I personally cant deny

Based on preference, If he prefers white girls why should that matter to you? I think people have different qualities they look for in a person. I think that it isn't all black guys like a certain girl of race, i think everyone has different preferences.

You are attracted to who you are attracted too. I would not read too much in to it. If he was saying negative comparison that are stereotypes then I would be concern. He like whites so what. You can make it worst by bugging him about it.
The truth is when love hit...all your thought about who you like in looks will be out the window.
