Many people fail to understand the long term benefits of struggle. Rather than looking for the self made reason they are in the mess, what can be learned from the situation, and how to work their way through the situation, they look for someone to blame. The devil is a convenient non-being to blame.
When I was in high school my father use to become extraordinarily angry when his eggs would crack open when he was boiling them. Me being the clever lad I was found that if I gently tapped each egg with a spoon I could make hairline cracks in the eggs so they would always open when placed in boiling water. I can remember my father ranting about how the Devil was attacking him.

The devil dosen't plague anyone because the devil does not exist. The devil is just a way to not accept the blame of mankind and instead to pin all the evil of the world onto some fictional diety.

I believe the devil plagues everyone. I just don't let him get the best of me or my life.

Because only those who believe in the devil will blame it for their own shortcomings. They may try to overcome the notion of the devil but they will of course fail until they realise they have to overcome their own shortcomings.
The people who don't believe in it are free to improve themselves from the very start.

because something cannot plague you if it's not real, unless you happen to believe that it is. and then those who are plagued by the devil tend to plague us by telling us all about it! urgh

satan works in many ways! and the best way! is for people to doubt his existence! if a person does not believe in the devil, he will actually leave you alon, thinking that he has the spiritual! victory over you! did JESUS DENY HIS EXISTENCE? NO!! IF YOU ARE CHRISTIAN, THEN YOU SHOULD know that jesus was tempted by the devil in the desert for 40 days! but did not!! deny that the devil was in charge of the current kingdoms on the earth! if you love jesus, then spirtually the devil or satan will attack you in areas that he knows you are weak! for example, i am recovering alcoholic, and the devil wiil try to get me to drin k again with temptations! but i thank god it has been years, since i have had alcohol, and will not! listen to lies in my head!

lol. Because only those that believe are doing it to themselves. They expect something bad to happen, so whenever it does, they blame the devil. The rest of us don't fall into that.
