We are looking to take a roadtrip from Arizona to Oregon this summer and wanted to take a backroads approach rather than all highways? Any suggestions? I find the backroads on most atlases kind of sketchy.
Thanks!

From Arizona to Oregon would be quite the adventure only going on backroads. However, I would suggest taking US 89 and visit Lake Powell Utah, Bryce Canyon National Park, and a litte spot called Big Rock Candy Mountain. Leaving Utah and hunting for Winnemucca, Nevada, you can finda backroad that goes to Klamath Falls and Crater Lake National Park in Oregon.

Well, you can't miss the coastal highway along the Pacific coast through Northern California and Oregon...it is absolutely gorgeous!

Kerry has this perfect. Try to take a short side trip over to Cedar Breaks...... It is amazing.
