immoral acts of homosexuality?

Some may hate General Pace, but God said we would be hated for standing up for what God said is right.

Our high school children are suffering because they think if the opposite sex pays no attention to them then they must be gay and pursue a gay lifestyle.
They do not even recognize that they are just obsessed with sex which is normal for young people. The gays in high schools have increased considerably since the gay movement.
What we permit - increases. I'm not worried about you adults and what you do in the bedroom, just don't advertise it for our children. They are easily persuaded and homosexuality is nothing to be promoting.

Absolutely!

We have had a regrettable decline in morality in our culture for years. Having leaders who will stand up for what is right is definitely a plus.

Even if you reject common morality, it's clear that having homosexuals in military units would lead to divisiveness and would destroy unit cohesion. A clear strength of US combat units is that the men absolutely trust one another and can feel close (to the point of trusting your life to the guys on your right and left). If that cohesion and trust is threatened by an undercurrent of "he might like me sexually," then unit efficiency is destroyed.

A leader has a responsibility to the men he leads. That includes, among other things, helping through troubling times and more importantly not insulting them. Even if he thinks homosexuality is wrong he failed many men and women under his command by insulting and humiliating him. If that is the position he is going to take, he needs to be removed from command.

EDIT: Okay, for all you people who so maturely went through this thread thumb upping the yeses and downing the no’s, let me ask you this question.

I am in a position where I think you are doing something that isn’t ethical. I think you are being immature and your opinions are being clouded by your own insecurities.

Now I just said what I thought, without insulting you.

Or, I could also say that dumb people like you are the reason democracy doesn’t work, and there should be an IQ test to vote. You are stupid and spineless. I won’t have any problem as an intellectually or morally superior being taking advantage of you for the rest of my life.

Which one of those would say would be what a good leader should say to try take responsibility for other people while still holding true to my beliefs, and which of those statements is something that an egotist and insecure person would say. Which did General Pace say?

P.S. I don’t think I am morally superior, and I don’t plan on taking advantage of anyone. And I think Democracy does work.

Oh yeah, we have to make a stand against those "immoral" gays...can't have the military endorsing immorality.

Give me a break!

I was in the Navy and after shore leave in a foreign port guess where there was a line....at the infirmary as people were getting their shots to fight STDs. All those straight sailors being so "moral" by going out and getting a hooker the night before.....and the military condoning it by giving them medicine the next day with no questions asked, let alone any reprucussions from the immoral behavior!

Does anyone think that the military is only open to choir boys and girls? Why do you think that strip clubs thrive just outside of major military installations? All those "moral" boys love going to watch naked women, that's why!

I really don't care what General Pace's views on homosexuality are...but to imply they should be kept out of the military because they are "immoral" is one of the STUPIDEST things I have ever heard.

Where do you think the sterotype of the drunken, cursing, womanizing sailor comes from? It sure isn't because our military guys and gals are so "moral"!

NO, homosexuality is not illegal and the moral views of individuals be they Christian or anything else are an irrelevance. If these young men and women are willing to risk their lives for their country then the country should be proud to support them.

The comment about a gay once hit on my husband, is easily answered, your argument is presumably that the military should have no women in it as the men would hit on them.

The military should reflect the values of ALL of the society it represents not only part of it.

NO!! How can he actually say that a whole group of people are immoral based on one detail? When will we as a country stand up against people like him. We do not need his hatred in this world! If these young men and women want to put their lives on the line for this country, dont you think we should support them?

Absolutely NOT! He's spreading hate and violence. Gay people are getting killed for who they are. And now with, more gay people will be beaten up and killed. Do you realize that spreading hate is also immoral? Pace should learn to respect other people's sexual orientation and worry about something MORE important. Gay people are fighting for the country yet they can't be open about their sexuality? You homophobes disgust me to no end. I hope you guys actually learn some morals and start respecting people and stop SPREADING hate.
