I've been raised by my father all my life and i've just recently found my birth mother. She's flying in from california (i live in maryland) and she wants to do something special with me and my sister. On my sisters day shes taking our mother out for sushi and stuff like that. I have NO idea where i should take her for our special day alone...any ideas? I want it to be way more exciting than sushi and coffee.

depending on where you aare at in MD I would take her to Wash DC to the Smithsonian (you choose which one) . Lots to do in DC, something for everyone.

this may sound weird but take her on a picnic in a nice quiet place. that way there isn't the hustle and bustle of waiters and everyone else and u can actually talk and catch up on each others lives. u have sooooo much to talk about and u can get personal without other ears hearing it. good luck and above all have fun

how about the zoo? it doesn't have to be exciting. why not have a calm afternoon to talk about things while you just walk around. you'd be amazed at what you can learn about a person when the atmosphere is more relaxing. don't let it be a competition with your sis. you don't need to show her the sights, show her yourself. have fun.
