Is God's eternity to be construed as timeless or temporal?

Given that the universe began to exist, a relational view of time suggests that time also began to exist. God's existence "prior to" or (sans) creation would not entail the existence of time if God in such a state is changeless. But if God sustains real relations with the world, the co-existence of God and the world imply that God is temporal subsequent to the moment of creation. Given the superiority of a relational over a non-relational (Newtonian) view of time, God ought to be considered as timeless (sans) creation and temporal subsequent to creation.

Thus, on a relational view of time God would exist timelessly and independently 'prior' to creation; at creation, which he has willed from eternity to appear temporally, time begins, and God subjects himself to time by being related to changing things.

no. God is outside the demension we call time. it's sort of like a yard stick. We are stuck walking this yard stick of time but God can move back and forth on it. He can be in more than one place at a time or in different times. Or he can move off the yard stick completely. Also, heaven is not in the demension of time. this is why the Bible says that a thousand years are as one day to God and one day is as a thousand years. Sometimes when you want God to do something He will say 'wait a second' ( he is just telling you to be patient).

It is a different dimension; a day with God is as a thousand years with man.
When people say that God would've come back by now, since so much time has gone by - well, its only been a few days for God.
He'll be back before the end of the "week"....

God is outside of time. He sees the beginning and the end at the same time. Augustine of Hippo wrote that time exists only within the created universe, so that God exists outside of time; for God there is no past or future, but only an eternal present.

Time is a thing that won't exist in Heaven as we know it, for God and everything about Him surpasses all we know and see and feel.
