Yes I do - but I don't live my life by it. Maybe I should!

I try and respect people who have other views and know a lot of born again Christians. I was brought up an ordinary Christian, and would say that I believe in God, but not a prescribed God such as the one practicing Christians worship. I find organised religion difficult - and the more I learn about psychology, the more I think that belonging to an organisied religion is a kind of denial.

But again, I do respect people who believe in a set God - whatever religion they practice. I am a spiritual person, and intuitive and caring. Sometimes I think I cab sense a higher power at work - it might be God, ir t might be something more complex, or more simple.

Thinking of synchronicity and of the beauty in the world, I definitely think there is a higher power at work somewhere.

Good question.

No. Belief in a higher power is essentially depressive, as it screams that we humans are into something that we have no control over. As such, this "higher power" may toy with us as it pleases, directing our lives away from fulfilling our desires; it creates the sort of helplessness that many feel when they realize that their life is not what they had hoped it would be. Perhaps at that point belief in "higher power" and "god's plan" can be consoling, but ultimately it wasn't THAT what got these people into the position they found themselves in; it was their own non-action, which resulted from the belief in exactly this higher power, and the belief in its plan to make this world a better place for us all. It is no wonder that such belief leads to non-action, as action is expected to come from an outside, undefined source here termed "the higher power". As such power, finally, does not exist, no action ever takes place. And life goes by on the principles of inertia.

What is the alternative? Take matters into your own hands, and know that the only power to change your own life for the better is yourself. Good things just don't show the tendency to fall from the sky. You have to get them down yourself. And you do that by consciously making a choice to make your life better and happier.

I believe in higher powers but not in the sense of religious powers.

Yes. I believe there is a higher power but no one way to it.

Yes I believe in a higher power, which is one's subconscious. It will keep you alive and going and bring you anything you need (i.e., creative visualization powers) if you keep your own egotistical thoughts out of its way.

Thru personal experience, yes, I believe there is something there. So far, though, it doesn't appear to be anything like what mankind has given us as images of "God". It seems to be more natural, instead of something beyond nature itself. As for exactly what it is, I couldn't tell you. Does it have a name? Dunno... I don't normally use a name for it. But then, I don't pray to it either. There's no way for me to explain it to another person (without sounding absolutely nuts - and I think I'll pass on goin there at this time) =)

For some people it is something they can always rely on, something that won't let them down. It can be of great help to people who lose something or someone close to them or who are going through an emotional or troubled time. For people who are trying to rehabiliate and rebuild a troubled past it gives them a fresh new start. Me, I think it's a load of bollocks!

yes but i don't think one religion is necessarily right and one is wrong, i think we're all trying to get the same thing in the end and it'll turn out that there is one heaven/god/higher power for everyone.

Yes, if you take away all people, animals, plants, planets, and stars there is nothing, how did it all start and I don't believe the big bang theory, but I was not there when God snapped his fingers.
