Joseph Smith did not only see an angel, he saw God the Father and Jesus the Christ.
Though Satan has the ability to come as an angel of light, he does not have the ability to give the spirit, or the abiding peace that comes with it. When we pray to God the Father through Christ, we can receive this peace and know for a surety that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and that the Church of Jesus Christ has truly been restored to the earth. I have honestly and sincerely studied and prayed, and I have learned the truth through this. You would be wise to do the same, as God is a being who cannot lie. And if we don't lie to him and are honestly seeking the truth, he will not keep it from us.

Well first of all, your bible is WAY wrong. It was written BEFORE Joseph Smith came along, so your bible is fake and false. And yes, he was a true prophet. Smith first got revalations from Angel Moroni, who came to him at his house and told him he was sent from God. He told him all about finding the gold plates and where they were and everything. He was instructed not to show anyone unless Moroni told him to. 12 other people saw the plates, and bear witness to them at the beginning of the Book of Mormon. And not even all of the witnesses were Mormon. Also, when Smith went into the Sacred Grove to pray to Heavenly Father, Satan at first tried to choke him and kill him, but right when he thought he was about to die Heavenly Father and Jesus drove away the devil and came and directly spoke to Jesus. Is that good enough for you?

Do Christians not believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet for the same reason that atheists don't believe in God? For every argument that I see for Believers vs. Atheists I could come up with something very similar for Christians vs. Joseph Smith.
The word choice of "Believers", "Atheists" and even "Joseph Smith" were chosen as an example.

Smith wasn't a prophet at all. Prophets do miracles. Moses parted the Red Sea, made bread fall out of the sky three times a day, turned all the water in Egypt into blood...Smith read imaginary plates out of a hat that (coincidentally) nobody else was allowed to see, and therefore, validate.

Yes, without a doubt, I do not doubt the angel he saw was a demon, he didn't question it, he didn't ask it if it was a angel of god, and he didn't even know that what was said went against the word of God. Yes Satan can appear as a angel of light but what do you suppose a angel of light appears as?

I'm sorry you don't agree with me, but you have that right.
