Why does this guy think he knows what he is talking about?

Remember the kid on here a few days ago speaking about France and the US. I recieved this personal message from him.
"By the way i'm not french jerk, im latin american, i've read many books of USA history (i don't use american because the spaniards called the whole continent like that, the US stole the name because they dont have one for themselfs). So, no one liberate me, indeed the only liberation would be against the yanky imperialism. my dear red neck indeed you war of independence never had a turning point before yorktown (indeed had an irregular curse). The US isn't worth enough to gain their independence for themselfs. The numbers are there, check the congress library if you want it.
hillbilly please read a little about the World War I you dont saved anyone just fill the place of the russians that quit, you only send a lame expeditionary force for a few months in 1918 (no one big battle just support for english and french). So lame so lame."

Just to clarify, I have been cursed at, kicked, yelled at, punched, and had people try to kill me for being in Iraq. This kid with his misguided beliefs doesnt bother me, rather, i find him to be quite humorous and funny.

Another note. I am an open minded person, I am very willing to hear any point of view on just about any subject. But when someone feels the need to act so openly rude towards people because hes too young to know how to get his point across, its a bit annoying. I will always listen to anyone who sets out a good arguement and makes valid points so long as they do it in a civil and polite way.

personally, I think this guy is some kid who doesnt have any friends, so he goes online, and tries to find subjects that will stir up problems and arguements, mainly because its the only way he can draw attention to himself, its cute...kinda. So he makes up stuff (because thats the ONLY way he could possibly come up with the line of bull hes got there) and goes and posts it.

And then, the arguements start, and he feels happy because he thinks people are paying attention to him, but they arent. If this kid were to pay attention to his suburban high school that he attends every day, he would know that the only debate over the naming of America is weather it was drived from Amerigo Vespucci or Richard Amerike.

And the completely off base comment about the "lame expeditionary force" in in 1918, yeah, I got a comment about that. The U.S. Marines suffered the worst day of combat in history because they followed the orders of a French Commander who claimed that germans held only a small corner of the woods at Bellau Wood. The marines that day walked into a slughter house, and you know what happened. They did it, they pushed beyond anything they though they were capeable of and took Bellau Wood, earning the name Teufelhunden.

Please kiddo, if you feel the need to come on and try to degredate the US, get your facts straight.

The only reason this guy calls himself a Latin American is because he hasn't figured out a way to sneak into the USA. And he hasn't read too much about the history of the USA or he would know that the Spaniards had nothing to do with the name America. The continent was named after Americo Vespucci; an Italian sailor.

Interesting position.

He's a kid, looking at his spelling and grammar not a very bright one, so we make a "question" solely to jab him. I'd have just responded in kind and torn the logic apart in private, but that's just me, I'm a quiet jerk.

However, since you're so open to opinion, let's take this step.

You've been attacked for being in Iraq. In what capacity were you there? Service? Contractor? I ask because I also served in the sandbox, and having spent years there and subsequently cast the meat machine out of me since being medically discharged after significant wounds sustained in action, it's quite easy to see what a farce the entire "middle east hates your democracy" standpoint is. I point this out only because you bring up having been in Iraq as if this grants you some legendary, magical right-ness that other "lesser" people don't have.

Regarding the topic at hand (of which I'm not completely sure there really is one). Because of the steaming pile of crap that this war was not only based upon, but is adding to every day, most of the world sees us differently. Maybe the government officials put on a pretty face for their media spotlight, but since when as a handful of suits spoken for an entire country, ACCURATELY? Try never. Most of the world hates us, and soldiers are the muscle behind our administration's political will. It's not right for soldiers to be spat on, as they're doing their job, but they're symbols of a corrupt system spreading its influence.

Until things change for the better, it's how it is. In the meantime, take some words of wisdom from a former NCO: get over yourself, boot.

Reading Maravilli original question about ungrateful we really are, one must come to the conclusion we're damn lucky to the worlds only super power.

Without France none of this could ever have happen. In fact back in the late 17 hundreds they must have been the cock of the walk.

Unfortunately times do change and us red necks are leading the parade to the worlds betterment.
