Christianity is a monotheistic[1] religion centered on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the New Testament.[2] Christians believe Jesus to be the Son of God and the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament. With an estimated 2.1 billion adherents in 2001, Christianity is the world's largest religion.[3] It is the predominant religion in Europe, the Americas, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Philippine Islands, Australia, and New Zealand.[4] It is also growing rapidly in Asia, particularly in China and South Korea.[5]

Christianity began in the 1st century AD as a Jewish sect,[6] and shares many religious texts with Judaism, specifically the Hebrew Bible, known to Christians as the Old Testament (see Judeo-Christian). Like Judaism and Islam, Christianity is classified as an Abrahamic religion. Some Christians consider Christianity to have superseded Judaism, because of the conviction that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. Others believe that Christianity has been grafted on to Israel, and that Judaism remains relevant as the religion of God's chosen people. The name "Christian" (Greek Χριστιανός Strong's G5546), meaning "belonging to Christ" or "partisan of Christ",[7] was first applied to the disciples in Antioch, as recorded in Acts 11:26.[8] The earliest recorded use of the term "Christianity" (Greek Χριστιανισμός) is by Ignatius of Antioch.[9]

Yes, if you put all the Christian sects and sect-lets together they form the largest single "religion" - some would say about 33% of the population. Obviously, they re NOT "the majority."
Please also note that as a proportion of humanity, that is a net loss of at least 1% since the beginning of the century.

Technically while they are picturing Jesus on the bypass, He could desire to be bare. The loincloth replaced into further in artwork later to conceal his circumcision - human beings have been continually crucified bare to function to the humiliation, and pagans did no longer opt for to renowned their new god replaced into born a Jew. in spite of the indisputable fact that, calling Christianity effeminate bolsters the thought for the time of basic terms women have the features of peace, mercy and humility, which all people knows is utter crap. greater in all probability which you're perfect that they attack homosexuals entirely from their very very own repressed choose, with little to no longer something to do with the actuality they 'love Christ.' And to boot that, women all people is greater commonly became off by way of violent reflects of stereotypical machismo, so if that's actual the plan it rather is in all probability that it rather is backfiring.

Prior to Christianity, Mythology was the largest religion. Does that mean Jupiter was right also? And, when times passes and Christianity has lost it's meaning because of people like you, will the new religion that takes it's place be right?

Majority = Narrow Gate????? Sound more like the wide path to me.
"What is Popular isn't always Right - And what is Right isn't always Popular"
I guess since the majority in the South are linked to the KKK, that must mean they are right. The majority of Germany backed the Nazi Regime... they must have been right.
Sorry, but just because the majority leans towards something, it doesn't mean it is right. There's no standard by which to Make something right by Majority... just means the Majority back it.

Christianity is not the major religion. There are a lot more muslims than christians. So if your statement is taken for fact, then that would be the "right" religion, right?

Your depth of study is appreciable. But incorrect on Statistics. In the world population, the Christians have never been in majority, if you count numbers only.

The Enquirer has a higher subscription rate than Newsweek.
And if you just want to preach, take it somewhere else.
This is not Yahoo Mini-Sermons. It's not even Yahoo Statements.
