There is a therapy called EMDR. It has proven very successful with putting away or getting rid of the past pain of a memory/experience. It is used with post traumatic stress syndrome, such as the what our armed forces soldiers go through when they come home from battle. The result is that when the memory is triggered it is no longer horribly painful. It now is a memory that has been processed in a non stress atmosphere unlike when it was experienced. Many therapists use it all over the country. You can do a search for a therapist near you.

My advice is you just forget all these past problems. Divert your attention to some other things that are worthy of your precious time. Always remember that the past is past. You cannot do anything about it. Put your sight on the future - for it is the event that you can manipulate and change. Work for a good future and project yourself as a happy, contented, and secure person in the months and years to come. Good luck!

You know what, I am in the same boat as you are in, and unfortuntely there is no hynosis to block ones memory and I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you this. I also don't want to have to think about past problems and by the sound of things this seems to be a serious problem. How I dealt with it was to talk about it I know it hurts but it's better to have it out in the open than to keep it locked inside.

The problem with trying to "forget" past problems is that they tend to creep back into your mind when you try to bottle them in. As hard as it may be, I would suggest that you talk to someone you trust or a counselor and confront the problems, no matter how bad, embarrassing or hurtful they are. Sometimes talking about them helps "release" them and then makes you able to have closure and forget them. If you have no one to talk to about them, feel free to e-mail me, I can't solve them, but at least you can get them off your chest. Good Luck! :)

Why do you type so ghetto? Your previous question you actually said "I be." Makes you sound so common and trashy.

You can't let go of past problems until you work through them. Try counseling.
