Germans as a rule ,are a little more precise concerning details than are other nationalities. They will need to know venue, time, dress code, whether you are providing food-even whether you would wish them to bring a bottle with them.
If you invite them for 1.00 p.m. for example-they will arrive on the dot.
Having said that I have had great times with Germans here in Ireland-they are some of the nicest people around-in spite of their liking for detail and,at times, near perfection.
Have a good Paddy's day!!

"It's time for the wearing 'o the green! Wear your favorite Irish green outfit and St. Paddies' Day accessories to my house on March... at ...pm...at whatever oak street.... and help us celebrate St.Patrick's Day!" Bring your four leaf clovers and sheleighleis[sorry, my spelling is bad]
"The traditional green popcorn and beer will be served, along with canapes and cocktails .Dress is casual!."
Have a supply of cheap St. Paddies day beads, hats, leis. or whatever, for the ones who show up without. Don't worry, the clueless will call and ask what you expect, and the mention of beer will appeal to them. Have some German beer, along with the green stuff.
Have a good time!

hmmm... you HAVE to? You don't WANT to? What's up with that?
Why not just send them the exact same invite that you send to all of your Angloparlants, and include a translation into German.
