Definition: Chemotherapy is the use of medication to destroy cancer cells. Chemotherapy is called a systemic treatment because the medications enter the bloodstream, travel through the body, and can destroy cancer cells outside the target area.
Chemotherapy may be taken by mouth (orally), or it may be given through a needle into a vein (intravenously, or IV) or a muscle (intramuscular, or IM).

Chemotherapy is a series of chemo drugs being administered to hopefully kill off cancer cells there are different types of chemo drugs that could be used, they usually also include radiation treatment along with this, to actually burn the cells, the chemo drugs are so strong, that is why people loose their hair, become anemic and really become nauseated. they have proven that smoking pot actually helps chemo patients relax and have an appetite, and you don't have to smoke it they have the pot in pill form.

chemotherapy is a mixture of two words, chemo: meaning chemicals, and therapy means treatment. so chemotherapy simply means treatment using modern medicines. in medicine we reserve this term for treatment of cancers.

The answers listed are correct: It is the treatment using specfic chemical agents, targeted for cancer cells, Which are selectively used to destroy malignant cells and tissues. they enter the cell cycle as specific times, unfortunately they cannot tell the difference between a healthy cell and a cancer cell so they tend to destroy all cells.
