July is a good time for taking a cruise to Hawaii. However if you wait a month and take a cruise to this region in August, the cruise costs will be cheapest during this month.
If you want to cruise to Alaska... May is about the least inexpensive time to go.
For the Caribbean, September is when you will find the price dips.
If you visit a website like Expedia.com, choose "all dates" you will be able to see all the sailing dates and the price fluctuations for particular region/cruise ship.
Also... I have found from experience that it is best to not book too far in advance for a cruise. The price will drop even further about a month and a half before the departure date.
Good luck and have fun. Cruises are a great travel deal. A floating hotel with free food and entertainment. You can't beat it!

my suggestions would be to take a cruise leaving San Juan since there aren't as many days at sea and you go to better islands. You can get plenty of time on board the ship at night.
Buy your own snorkel gear here so you won't have to spend about $30 for a ship excursion once you get to an island. Just get off the ship, head to a taxi and ask him where is the best place to snorkel, or a beach that has a bar, or ... whatever your interests happen to be and he'll know the best spot. He'll pick you up when you ask too, just bring a few extra bucks for a tip.
Depending upon your age, Carnival is great for twenty somethings and 30s too, or any age actually, although most cruise lines are about the same. You hear raves about RC being great, but my friend just came back and she said she stayed awake one night listening to her husband snore on one side of her and his friend, in the next room, snoring on the other side of her. So...bring some ear plugs? LOL I dunno, I never had that problem with any cabin I've had, from the bottom of the ship to the top w/a balcony.
If you've got days at sea...and you've got the money, then a balcony is well worth the price since you'll feel that you "own" the ship with so much privacy. It's wonderful to say the least, otherwise, book a cabin with a window. (I had a hard time in a windowless cabin, but that's me.).
Two weeks before you set sail, call the cruise line directly and see if there are any free upgrades. Sometimes this might work, depending upon how filled it is.
I usually find a good deal by comparing prices for cruises here: iBtraveling.com This way you won't have to pay a travel agent's fee. If you can type...why not compare yourself for the deal you want best and type the info yourself? I've never had a problem, although I've read and learned that once you put your order in online for "anything" and you've used your credit card....That you should shut down your computer completely and restart it and start surfing again. Just to be safe.
Well, those are my thoughts. Hope they help. Enjoy

This depends where you are leaving from. If you are on the East Coast, and it is your first cruise, try Bermuda. It gives you a chance to try cruising for a short period, to see if you like it. From the West Coast, Alaska, is a nice cruise. That time of year the Caribbean is nice, for an extended cruise.

We sailed on the Carnival Destiny out of Puerto Rico. It was just great. We have been on several others, this by far was the best. Lots of ports, and there for long periods of time. The rooms were nice, but we didn't spend much time there only to catch a few zzz's, change clothes and go out for more fun. The snorkeling trips were great. Our favorite was the sunset wind cruise in Barbados. The beaches were fabulous in Aruba. We will definitely take this one again. We flew through Charlotte, NC and not Atlanta or Miami.

Then if 1500 is max you opt for for action picture star Cruise strains. they're the desirable available. merely keep in mind in case you do choose for action picture star you like a passport to cruise with them. I went on a action picture star cruise line 2 week cruise this previous March and that they made us have passports. the two week cruise replaced into $1100. nutrition is EXCELENT! provider is depraved sturdy and that they are depraved clean. They consistently have hand sanatiser everywhere. They clean the rooms 2 circumstances an afternoon. I had a blast with them. Passports in case you have no longer have been given one are $a hundred and take 4-6 weeks, and rush passports are $a hundred and sixty and take 2-3 weeks.

alaska or the med
best suggestion - book now. You are already behind. Prices are subject to availability. The cruise ships for July are more than 70% booked by mid-feb.
